I founded Avouch in 2024 to work only with professional-services firms. Before that I co-founded Teamed, which is where I learned how a young firm earns trust before anyone's heard of it — turns out most of that trust gets decided somewhere you can't see.

One question runs through everything Avouch does: as AI becomes the first place a buyer asks who to trust, how does a firm become the answer? Most firms have never even asked, because they can't see it happening — so I write and speak on GEO to get the partners who read it to stop guessing and start measuring where they actually stand.

I pull rank for the good firms that keep losing to the loud ones.

I'm the founder who reads your transcripts at the weekend, argues with the AI until it names you, and won't call it done until you're actually the answer, not just sat there on the page. Being a best-kept secret is losing politely, and I'd rather we won.

What runs through the work

Recommendation is the output that matters now. So three questions keep coming back, in order.

  1. Does AI even know you exist?

Before an engine can recommend a firm, it has to understand who that firm is. Most are invisible at this first step.
  2. Has it got reason to trust you?

Understanding isn't enough. The engine needs corroboration from sources it already believes.
  3. Can it quote you when it matters?

The firms that get named are the ones an engine can pull a clear answer from on demand.

There's a difference between showing up and being recommended.
