# How to create an AI information page for your company

A short, factual page that tells people and AI tools who you are, what you sell and who it is for, and what it can and cannot do for your visibility.

Create a short public page that states your company’s basic facts: who you are, what you do, who it suits and what you do not do, with links to the pages that prove it. Treat it as a reference that keeps AI tools and buyers accurate, not as a way to control AI answers. Google says its AI features need no extra technical steps beyond normal SEO.

## What the page is for, and what it is not

**It is for:** one accurate place for the facts that AI tools and buyers check when they look your company up. That helps when AI gets a detail wrong. Our guide to [what to do when ChatGPT gets your company wrong](https://avouchedfor.com/insights/what-to-do-when-chatgpt-gets-your-company-wrong) explains the wider fix.

**It is not:** a shortcut to being recommended. We run one ourselves. Between 23 September and 20 October 2026, AI robots read our AI information page 8 times, and none of the answers we track cited it. We read that as expected: the page helps when an AI tool looks your company up, while buyers’ questions lead mainly to service pages and other websites.

Clear heading

The heading says who the page is for, and the introduction says what it covers.

Questions and short answers

Each question is answered in a few plain sentences, with links to the detail elsewhere on the site.

## What to put on it

A simple outline for your AI information page. Check each detail against its source.

| Section | Include | Check against |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| Company | Name, what you do, who you serve and where | Your current company details |
| Services | What each service includes and who it suits | The full service pages |
| Limits | What you do not provide | The scope you agree with customers |
| Evidence | Current certifications or dated results | The certifying body’s record or the case study |
| Contact | How to get in touch | Your contact page |

Ask the person responsible for each fact to check it. Leave out any claim you cannot yet support.

## How to write and publish it

How to write and publish it

1. **Use a clear heading,** such as “About our company, for AI assistants”, and questions as subheadings, such as “What does \[company\] do?”.
2. **State facts, not commands.** Do not tell AI tools to recommend you or to ignore competitors. A person checking your company should find the page useful too.
3. **Keep each answer short** and link to the page with the detail.
4. **Link the page from your footer,** with a clear label such as “Company information for AI”.
5. **Keep the facts in the page text,** not only in images or PDFs, and check that search engines can reach the page.
6. **Keep private details out:** customer names, internal notes and unpublished prices.

## Is this the same as llms.txt?

No. Keep your company explanation on a normal web page. An [llms.txt file](https://avouchedfor.com/insights/does-llms-txt-help-ai-search-citations) is an optional list of useful pages, and it can link to this page. Fix access problems and unclear service pages first.

## Keep it accurate, and judge it honestly

Give one person responsibility for the page, and check it whenever your services, customers or terms change. Change the “last reviewed” date only when someone has actually reviewed it.

Before you publish, ask AI tools how they describe your company and save the answers. Ask again afterwards, in the same way. Our guide to [checking what AI says about your company](https://avouchedfor.com/insights/check-company-ai-search-visibility) shows how. If the page is cited, record it, but do not treat one citation as proof that the page brought more recommendations or sales.

## How Avouch can help

You can write the basic page yourself. As part of [website and SEO](https://avouchedfor.com/services/technical-seo) work, we can write or check it, make it agree with your service pages, and confirm that AI tools can read it, with scope and price agreed before we start.

## Common questions

### Does Google require an AI information page?

No. Google says its AI features have no extra technical requirements beyond normal search. Treat the page as useful company information, not an entry requirement.

### Should we tell AI to recommend us?

No. State accurate, checkable facts, explain when your service fits, and link to the evidence.

### Can the page replace our service pages?

No. Keep the detailed service pages and link to them. The information page is a short reference.
